The mine and plant are located on aboriginal freehold land that is owned by the warlpiri people and managed on their behalf by the central desert aboriginal lands trust. The treatment plant consists of a crushing and grinding facility and a carbon in pulp cip circuit. The mine was commissioned in 1986 and has produced more than ten million ounces moz of gold to date.
