It is perhaps this that makes it somewhat forgotten yet it is this that makes it my favourite album of theirs.

Tangerine dream follow up their superb in search of hades box set with another virgin era package. I have to say that this is a fine album and along with tangram 1980 is certainly one of the better albums released by tangerine dream during the 1980s. Electronic rock style. Even reflective at times.

The decision not to renew the contract must have given messrs froese franke and schmoelling a real boot up the jacksey musically and creatively because hyperborea is in my opinion the best record that this line up made for virgin.
